P-Day #49 - Committing a Couple To Be Baptized, Car Problems & Destroying a Shed...

This week has been a great week full of opening our mouths and teaching baptismal commitments. We have also been doing a lot of service this week.

We had a lesson with two of our investigators who are a couple. As we explained “The Restoration” of The Gospel to them, we explained the power of Prayer. The lady said that she had read the pamphlet and prayed. She said she got the answer that this is true. We then committed them to get baptized and will be working with them to accomplish that goal.

We helped destroy a shed with a splitting maul and lots of energy.  We will be working to rebuild a new one for a man and his friend. It took a lot of time, but we were able to get the job done and have some fun in the process. We were able to help an inactive member move into her new apartment through a service agency called Good Shepard. We were able to get her moved and we were pretty tired, but we were able to keep working through the rest of the night.

It was a really good experience going on exchanges with Mission President Shields and learning how to be bolder in contacting.

I Got a Few Miles on These Dansko's!

My shoes are starting to get a little worn on the tread I am needing to put new insoles in them. It’s hard to believe I’ve been out just under a year. 23 Missionaries are getting ready to go home and another 23 are coming in on our next exchanges. Amazing!

The “Automotive Maintenance" Boy Scout Merit Badge came in handy this week! We have had some car problems, but we are getting them taken care of, so we have been at the dealership once or twice. I had to change the tire this week, so it’s a really good thing to have missionaries learn how to change a tire on the mission. This is the 3^rd tire I’ve had to change. I helped the Spanish Elders in Kitchener and a member in a minivan change theirs.

We were able to talk to a lady that had a little too much to drink and we had to make sure that she wouldn't follow us home. We were good and we were able to end that night on a good note.
