Dear
Mom and Dad,
This
week was a busy week for us, but my companion Elder B. got sick and we had a
slow start to the week.
We
helped with food orders for the Bishop's Storehouse this week. The truck was
late so, we set some appointments and made plans for a movie night. We were
able to get all the food orders where they needed to go. We were able to help a
member who was not able to pick up her food order and were able to drop it off
to another chapel so that they could come and pick it up at a later time.
We
had a Ward Movie Night and were able to watch "Meet the Mormons" and
"17 Miracles". The Spirit was felt and I think we helped strengthen
our recent convert who was there. We were able to get a member referral
for a lady who wanted to give her husband a blessing and she wanted a blessing
also. We met her in her home and taught her the Plan of Salvation. Then we went
to the hospital to give her husband a blessing. I think she really was grateful
for us coming over and we set up another appointment with her this week.
We
met another recent convert on Sunday. We are working to get him a white shirt
and a tie so he can be Ordained to the Aaronic priesthood.
We
taught our investigator the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the Word of Wisdom. He
committed to live both. We have a baptismal date with him for the 30th, but we
will have to push it back due to General Conference.
We
delivered a Book of Mormon to a thirteen-year-old girl, who when we got there,
panicked and forgot all the questions she had. She was still really grateful we
gave her one. We will be following up with her this week.
We
also helped with a Relief Society Swap Meet and tried to talk to people but
everyone was concentrating on the swap.
We
had a Nerf War here with the Young Men. It was a little unfair because I am the
one with the F.B.I. Tactical Training. It was pretty fun sniping the Young Men
with a 50-round drum clip. I was hiding around a corner and just as the
YM thought they had made it, I would unload on them…It was awesome! Oh, I
definitely haven’t lost my touch!
Here’s
a pretty exciting story…It was pretty good. Last night we were driving home and
saw some motorcycles street racing. As we were driving up, the light turned
green and they took off. They got half way through the block, and a cop
pulls out and lights them all up. They scattered like bugs when you turn on the
lights…we got to watch it all go down. We followed one and watched him.
As he saw the cop pull off the road to go after his buddy, he sped to the other
side of town. Now that’s a buddy, ea’?
We
will continue to work hard and open our mouths for those who want to hear.
Remember
I Pray for you every night & day!
Love,
Elder
